During the Mid ‘70s Tanjong Rhu is well know as the Emergency Ship Clinic , they’re cater to the small and medium ship repair jobs . Till the mid ‘80s when URA ( Urban Redevelopment Authority ) have a new plan for the next 25 years development.
So the Government convinced the land owner and the ship builders moved to Jurong where they had allocate for the ship building industries.
Since then Tanjong Rhu begin to transform into a well plan Residential Estates , surrounding will be new MRT circle link , Sea sports Hub and sport hub etc…..
Future of Tanjong Rhu
There will be a MRT cricle line through Tanjong Rhu and Singapore Sports Hub. The government will spend total almost 2 billion Singapore dollar to develop this area by the year 2011 ~ 2013.
